New Owners

In April four of our young endurance prospects went to new homes.

Alhambra Pierrot (Arabesque Eclipse x Passage (ASB)) was purchased by Scott Davenport of Orange, NSW. Over Winter Scott has begun his education and under saddle and is looking forward to Spring and Summer so that they can get out on the trails together.

Alhambra Trinidad (Kiraj Nemes x Tillexa) and Alhambra Troubadour (Magic Prophecy x Beyond The Wind (ASB)) have both gone to endurance homes in Queensland.

Alhambra Condor (Kiraj Nemes x Alhambra Cachet) is enjoying his new home with Leanne Carocher in the NSW Hunter Valley. Leanne has started Condor under saddle and is also preparing him for some halter showing in Spring.

In May our exciting young dressage prospect Alhambra Firenze (Vivaldi x Alhambra Foxfire (dec)) began a partnership with his new owner, 17yo Emily Hall of Queanbeyan, NSW. Emily and Firenze have spent Winter getting to know each other and are looking forward to their first competition later this month.

Competition News

There isn’t any!

Twelve months of really severe drought conditions have seen all our competition plans on hold since April 2002. But things are looking better now and several of our horses will be out and about in Spring.

Arabian Warmblood mare Alhambra Veronique (Brokeford Park Rimski x Alhambra Marsanne) had a hugely successful show season as a 3yo. (See Competition News) but after Bathurst Royal Show in April 2002 she was turned out for a complete physical and mental holiday for 15 months.

She came back into work in June and in coming months she will begin her dressage career and also be shown in breed halter and performance classes and as a show hunter. She has formed a wonderful partnership with her new rider Nienke Lucas and is thriving on the attention that Nienke lavishes on her.

We’re preparing three youngsters for showing in breed classes in Spring - the 3yo Anglo filly Alhambra Windchime Melody (Arabian Park Designate x Beyond The Wind), the 2yo Arabian Warmblood gelding Alhambra Marseilles (Rangeview Nordstern (imp NZ) x Marielle (dec)) and the 4yo Arabian Warmblood mare Alhambra Martina (Vivaldi x Marielle (dec)). Over Spring and Summer we’ll also be preparing several of our yearlings for breed showing in Autumn. These youngsters are also available for sale - either in their current ‘Winter Woolly’ paddock condition or with a three month show conditioning and halter training package. Breeding News

It’s still a few months before our foals for this season are due - November and December - but we’re looking forward to a good Spring and will be breeding more mares than we have done for the past several years.

Our new Anglo stallion Lasalle Kris (My War Horse (ASB) x Santarabia Katani) will be bred for the first time and several home-bred young mares will join the broodmare band. To make way for these girls we are offering several of our proven broodmares for sale or on-farm breeding lease.
